Letters to the Editor Israel has extended the appalling restrictions on Mordechai Vanunu (Report, April 21). Once again, we heard not a whisper from the British Foreign Office about a man who was in effect kidnapped from Britain and who exposed Israel's advanced nuclear arsenal. Would the Foreign Office allow, say, an Iranian whistleblower to be spirited back to Iran for imprisonment without so much of a protest, or are there differing standards for Israel? Vanunu showed great courage and did the world a huge favour. We have turned our backs on him. Chris Doyle |
